As president of Envirocann, a budding cannabis certification agency, April Crittenden brings a wealth of knowledge regarding environmental stewardship and the USDA National Organic Program. April was the Senior Quality and Compliance Supervisor at California Certified Organic Farmers (CCOF) where she worked for almost a decade. In that role she crafted client communication systems, helped develop and implement the pesticide residue testing program, as well as oversaw all complaints and investigations. Prior to her years devoted to organic certification, April studied at UC Santa Cruz where she received a BA in Environmental Studies and Anthropology. She also has certificates in Permaculture, NOP & ACA trainings, and has obtained the following IOIA Inspection Certifications: Crop, Basic Post Harvest Handling/Processor, and Pesticide Residue Sampling. When April isn’t working to expand access to organically grown cannabis, she loves to snowboard, go hiking, play with her dogs and spend time gardening. Envirocann is a third party certification organization, focused on the quality assurance and quality control of cannabis production and products. Through on-site inspections and lab testing, Envirocann Certification verifies that Best Management Practices (BMP’s) are used to grow and process cannabis and ensures environmental compliance to local and state regulations. Our mission is to empower farms, add value and transparency to cannabis production, and tell the story of farms, companies, and products, which are backed up by objective scientific data. It is our goal for our clients and their products to be recognized by consumers as the best, representing quality, integrity, and excellence.
